Its mechanism of action is anti-bacterial and consists in inhibition of construction of bacteria cell walls sensitive to Amoxicillin. Cell walls serve to protect bacteria from environment and action of Amoxicillin prevents their propagation. Amoxicillin can be effective against H. influenzae, N. gonorrhoea, E. coli, Pneumococci, Streptococci, and certain strains of Staphylococci. Microorganisms producing penicillase are resistible to Amoxicillin. The medication is not active toward mycobacteria, mycoplasmas, genus Rickettsia, fungi, amoeba, plasmodium, viruses and also Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Proteus spp. (excluding P. mirabilis).Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Tell your doctor before taking this medication if you are allergic to cephalosporins (Ceclor, Ceftin, Duricef, Keflex), have had asthma, serious liver or kidney impairement, a bleeding or blood clotting disorders, mononucleosis or any type of allergic reaction in history. You may take Amoxillin with or without food. The chewable tablet should be chewed before you swallow it. Swallow Amoxillin capsules whole with a glass of water.This medication diminishes effect of certain contraception drugs. Continue to take this drug even if you feel fine as life circle of bacteria has certain peculiarities. If you stopped to take the drug having not completed the course of treatment it may result in their further propagation and producing of strains resistant to this medication. Augmentin
$134.10Common use. It is is a broad-spectrum antibiotic which destroys bacteria. It is active against many aerobic (those developing in presence of oxygen) and anaerobic (those developing in absence of oxygen) gram positive and aerobic gram negative microorganisms including strains which produce beta-lactamase (the enzyme which destroys penicillin). Clavulanate potassium comprised in the content of this medication provides resistance of Augmentin to activity of bacterial beta-lactamases. This medication is used to treat pneumonia and other infectious diseases of respiratory, gastrointestinal systems, urogenital systems, infections which appear after surgery and others.Doses are administered individually depending on your condition, localization of infection and susceptibility of the pathogen. Do not take it in larger amounts or longer than recommended. Swallow the whole tablet. If it is the Augmentin Chewable tablet then chew it before swallowing. Augmentin should be taken at evenly spaced interval.Do not use it if you are allergic to any other penicillin antibiotic, if you have liver or kidney failure or mononucleosis.Do not use the medicine if you have allergy to its components or another penicillin antibiotics, if you have infectious mononucleosis, a history of liver problems or yellowing of the eyes or skin caused by Augmentin.Dyspepsia, abdominal discomfort, bloating, gas nausea, vomiting, liver function disorders, hepatitis, jaundice caused by stagnation of bile, vaginal itching and also symptoms of allergy (hives, rash, swelling). $88.20Bactrim consists of two medications: sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim. The first inhibits synthesis of dihydrofolic acid (the substance important for human and bacterial metabolism) while the last blocks next stage of its biochemical cycle: formation of tetrahydrofolic acid which occurs only in microorganisms. This medication is effective against streptococci, staphylococci, pneumococci, bacillus dysentery, typhoid fever, E. coli, Proteus, and ineffective against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, spirochetes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Bactrim is applied in treatment of pneumonia and other diseases of respiratory, gastrointestinal systems, urogenital systems caused by bacterial infections which develop after surgery and others.Bactrim can be taken two or three times a day with or without a meal. Dosage depends on the type and severity of infection. Take with a glass of water. Patients with severe kidney failure require correction of Bactrim dosage.Avoid exposure to sunlight or getting tanned. Antibiotic medicines can cause diarrhea, inform your doctor if you have it, it can mask other infection.
